Two fishermen, Deland Beaulieu and Jacob Allen Kingbird, drowned in the icy waters of Lower Red Lake in November 2017. Three years later, the circumstances surrounding their deaths, and who is responsible for them, are still playing out in the courts. As of early December, there has been new development in two ongoing federal court cases.
